- 20 years of owning a business, based 40 miles away from home in London, left me tired of London, not of life. Wife, kids and home were secondary to work. The money was good but the rest was not. My business partners were older than me and wanted to retire. I decided that I didn't want to carry on for the next 20 years doing the same thing. We sold the business for not much and I no longer commuted or earnt a lot of money. But, I saw my kids in the morning and in the evening, saw my wife and set-up a much smaller business from home serving my local community. To make ends meet I took on an allotment just before they became popular. Life is so different now, I wouldn't go back even if someone wanted me to. Everything is now so much better, even though we're brassic!
